Over 50 years of supporting affordable housing in Lincoln
About
The Lincoln Foundation, Inc. is a 501(c)3 private non-profit organization.
The Lincoln Foundation (LF) is a member of Lincoln’s Affordable Housing Trust and Lincoln’s Housing Coalition (LF, Housing Commission, Affordable Housing Trust, Select Board).
LF works with the Town of Lincoln to facilitate the resales of affordable deed restricted homes.
LF currently has four board members: Terri Morgan, President, Rhonda Swain, Treasurer, Jack Holbrook, Justin Byrd, and Laura Koller (BRF homeowners). We are looking to expand and diversify our board and welcome inquiries by interested Lincoln residents.
Since our founding over 50 years ago, we’ve played a pivotal role in the creation of affordable housing in Lincoln.
In 1973, we partnered with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to develop Lincoln Woods, Lincoln’s first mixed-income housing development.
In 1990, we partnered with a private developer to create the home ownership program at Battle Road Farm.
In 2003, we helped the Town of Lincoln purchase a condominium unit in Greenridge for resale to an affordable buyer.
In 2006, we partnered with the Town of Lincoln to complete the funding for development of three affordable rental units on Sunnyside Lane.
In 2007, we funded consulting services that enabled creation of nine addition units of affordable housing for people with special needs.
From 2009 onward, we worked with the Commonwealth and the Lincoln Affordable Housing Trust to “buy down” units to maintain their affordability.
In 2021 and 2022, we made grants to affordable homeowners for needed repairs and upkeep.
In 2022, we made grants to assist affordable owners at Minuteman Commons with their septic system special assessment.
